POV Nominated for Six News & Documentary Emmy Awards

To date, POV films have won 37 Emmy® Awards, 21 George Foster Peabody Awards, 12 Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Awards, three Academy Awards®, the first-ever George Polk Documentary Film Award and the Prix Italia. New York, N.Y.July 26, 2018 — POV (Point of View), American television’s longest-running independent documentary series on PBS, has received six nominations for the 2018 News & Documentary Emmy Awards, announced today by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. PBS leads with 45 nominations, receiving more than any other network. POV’s My Love, Don’t Cross That River was nominated for Best Documentary. POV’s sister-series America ReFramed, which airs on WORLD Channel, also received three nominations for its films DEEJ, Farewell Ferris Wheel, and Vegas Baby. Today’s announcement marks over 160 Emmy nominations for the 31-year-old series. Since 1988, POV has won 37 Emmy Awards. Best Documentary
