Professor Margolis worked across a range of areas in philosophy, including aesthetics, pragmatism, relativism, and various topics in applied ethics, writing over 30 books. You can learn more about his writings here, and read an interview with him here.
Professor Margolis taught at Temple University beginning in 1968. Prior to that he held appointments at the University of Western Ontario, the University of Cincinnati, the University of South Carolina, and Long Island University, and held visiting positions at many universities over the course of his career. He earned his Ph.D. in philosophy from Columbia University in 1953.
