Dr. Barker’s scholarship and teaching focused on biomedical ethics, legal and political philosophy, and twentieth-century German philosophy. He earned his PhD from Purdue University and his undergraduate degrees from California State University, Chico. Before coming to Converse, he taught at Albright College for twenty years. In addition to his regular teaching in the philosophy program, he served as Converse’s Dean and Provost for eighteen years before recently assuming the Presidency this summer.
