2022-2023 Retirements
- Richard Arneson will be retiring from the University of California, San Diego in the summer of 2023.
- William Bechtel will be retiring from the University of California, San Diego by the summer of 2023.
- Michael Devitt will be retiring from CUNY at the beginning of 2023.
- Owen Flanagan retired from Duke University in the summer of 2022.
- Dale Jamieson retired from New York University in the summer of 2022.
- Elliott Sober will be retiring from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in the summer of 2023.
As it may be useful to prospective graduate students to know about the status of faculty at programs they’re considering, I’ll be maintaining a list here of philosophers at departments with graduate programs who have either retired already in 2022 or will be retiring sometime between now and the start of the 2023 academic year.
