Rocky and Bullwinkle (2000)

I won't waste much time on this one. It's okay. There are some amusing and punny/funny moments here, just like the original series. But just as often, the jokes are lame and fall flat on their face. It's about a 50/50 shot here.

The real surprise with this film is that Robert Deniro produces and also stars as the human Fearless Leader. He apparently tried to get this project underway for several years. With all that time to spend, you would think he could have gotten a better script. Deniro is so happy here he even parodies his own "You talking to me" speech from "Taxi Driver." It's very, very sad.

This is one that can wait for the dollar cinema or 50 cent rental night.

Note:

Also with Rene Russo and Jason Alexander. With cameos by Janeanne Garofalo, Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Jonathan Winters, David Allen Grier, Randy Quaid, and Keenan and Kel.
