I

I am Trying to Break Your Heart - This is a "for fans only" sort of film. So, if you like Wilco, go see it.

I Bury the Living - One only has to see the film to understand why no one in their right mind would put money into Louis Garfinkle's script.

The Ice Storm - Suburban angst is explored in this complex and puzzling film.

An Ideal Husband -It's so easy to write about a really good film - or a really bad one. But to say something clever or constructive about a film that just lays there can be so excruciating.

Identity - Ends up being a silly, contrived and obvious mess.

I Don't Know Jack - This video biography of the man serves him quite well.

If Lucy Fell - It has comic moments, thanks to that quirkiness and Ben Stiller's funny character, it's not all that romantic.

Igby Goes Down - This film's script is so astounding and the performances are so perfect that the film soon grew on me.

I Heart Huckabees - While the film is intelligent, witty and wordy, it is also farcical, often bordering on slapstick, and often laugh-out-loud funny.

I Know What You Did Last Summer - Although this is a really lame horror movie, it does scare us at times with typical stupid horror film cliches.

I Love Your Work - I suppose there are some stupid critics out there who are going to lambast how your film evolves into madness. They are fools.

I'll Sing for You - More like the stuff of home movies than of riveting documentaries.

Illuminata - I'm on cerebral sensory overload.

Imaginary Heroes - Would have been at number one of my Top Ten films of 2004 if I had only seen it last year when it played at the Austin Film Festival.

I'm Not Scared - This is an awesome and breath-taking film and one that nobody should fail to see.

The Importance of Being Earnest - Incredibly dated, Oscar Wilde's comedy of manners could not illicit a single laugh from a modern American audience.

The Importance of Being Earnest (2002) - Hopelessly adrift.

I'm the One that I Want - Girlfriend, I laughed so hard Raisinettes were coming out my nose.

In America - We love these characters and we want to see them succeed.

In and Out - Amusing and sweet script here that often goes a bit astray but inevitably warms our hearts.

The Incredibles - There is really nothing too incredible about "The Incredibles."

The In Crowd - Let me save you some time and a little bit of money. "The In Crowd" sucks. There, now you don't have to see it.

Incubus - Okay. So there are two important elements to this film. It's Bergmanesque quality and the language.

Independence Day - Full of threadbare story-lines and cliched plot. But you know what? I still liked it.

The Independent - It’s a great film full of wonderful cameos.

In Dreams - Water-logged drivel.

Industrial Symphony #1 - David Lynch takes an ambiguous approach, reminiscent of his "Eraserhead" to producing a performance art piece set to the music of Angelo Badalamenti. Julee Cruise sings.

Infamous - Is much more colorful and campy and gay than “Capote.”.

In Good Company - Anyone who liked the Weitz Brothers 2002 film "About a Boy" should enjoy this film.

In Her Shoes - A surprisingly funny and heartfelt film.

In My Skin - Quite possibly the most disturbing and revolting horror film with an intelligent script and a thought-provoking plot to be released since George Romero's "Dawn of the Dead."

Inner and Outer Space - One of the most important of Warhol's films because it is one of the closest film approximations to his portraits.

Innocence - Like Grandma and Grandpa, it can surprise you with wit, insight, joyousness and sorrow.

In Praise of Love - Beat Poet Godard with a camera and an idea.

Inside Deep Throat - It's ridiculous to take this film for anything other than what it is: Pure puerile entertainment.

Insomnia (2002) - A taunt, intricate, interesting thriller.

Insomnia - I can't really figure out what the big hubbub is.

interMission - Thanks to a witty, albeit sophomoric script, good acting, and a heart in the right place, the film ends up coming out winningly.

Internal Affairs - Boring, puffy and totally unbelievable.

The Interpreter - Some spoilers - although I can't spoil this movie much more than the script and direction already does mid-film.

The Interview - Is so hideously bad, so heinous and so fratboy stupid that it has to be a joke. I mean, c'mon. Who is it? Fess up!

Interview with the Vampire - This overblown, stupid, pointless film is well beneath the talents of everyone involved.

In the Bedroom - Is worth seeing. The first 2/3 of the film are marvelous.

In the Realms of the Unreal - There is enough material to provide even the most timid viewer much fodder to ponder upon.

The Insider - Isn't a great film nor Oscar worthy. It's a good film at best.

Inspector Gadget -Words cannot begin to describe the absolute horror that is "Inspector Gadget."

Intolerable Cruelty - The film looses speed in the second half as it goes happily into the territory of the absurd.

The Intruder - It is compelling viewing, whether seen now in the context of a period piece or not.

I, Robot - The only robot here is the Hollywood Summer Blockbuster Movie Machine.

The Iron Ladies - It's hard to imagine a film much more whacked out.

Irreversible - For all it's sickening violence, I found myself leaving "Irreversible" having no reaction whatsoever.

I Shot Andy Warhol - For those of us interested in the whole Warholian universe, the film is a wonderful document. It tells us a lot we never really knew.

Insignificance - There really is little here.

The Island - This is the most hilarious, most ridiculous, most cheesy film to come out in over a decade.

I Stand Alone - I can't imagine why anyone would want to view it, except that it is, of course, a masterpiece.

It is Impossible to Learn to Plow by Reading Books - Is sparse, arid and slowly paced. In the manner that "Slacker" was verbose, "IIITLTPBRB" is quiet.
