A Galaxy Far Far Away - Is a documentary about “Star Wars” fans. It uses 1999’s summer blockbuster “The Phantom Menace” as a jumping in point to begin a dialogue on the phenomenon that is George Lucas and “Star Wars” et al.

Galaxy Quest - If you ain't a "Star Trek" fan, the film isn't for you. But if you are a fan, you gotta see this one. You will laugh your ass off. And maybe get choked up a bit here and there too.

The Game - The film fails at it's attempt to be a cinematic mind-fuck.

Gang Related - To talk too much about Kouf's piece gives away to many of the surprises that he has in store for us in the course of the plot.

Gangs of New York - Despicable.

Garage Days - A glorious mess.

Garden - Features one of the most compelling, heart-breaking and beautiful friendship between two teenage boys ever captured on film.

Garden State - An impressive debut film and Braff is simply superb in it, but it isn't everything I quite hoped it would be.

Gattaca - The script has enough plot twists and surprises in it to keep us going. The film also looks nice.

Gaydar - It's really hard to judge films in that manner once you meet a filmmaker and like them, but... here goes anyway.

Gay Sex in the 70's - These archives in the film bring us as close as we are likely to ever get to the subject matter.

Genesis II - The story goes back and forth and has really very little substance.

George of the Jungle - The film is really good hearted diversion even if it is a bit slow at points.

George Wallace: Settin’ the Woods on Fire - Expansive, intricate and in-depth, this documental biography of one of the most controversial figures in the civil rights movement is like a history book come to life.

Gerry - Matt Damon and Casey Affleck lost in the desert. There. That’s all you need to know before you see this film.

Get Bruce - Did I say it was tremendously funny? By that I mean it is double-you-over-in-pain hilarious.

Get Real - Silly, sophomoric, pedestrian, teen-angst junk. Right?

Get Shorty - It's black sunglasses and cold blue steel. And it works, for the most part.

Ghost Dog - It's classic stuff. Jarmusch simply makes it his own.

Ghost World - A coming-of-age story told in black.

The Gift - A pretty watchable film from a seeming first-draft script by Billy Bob Thornton and Tom Epperson.

Gigantic - Lackluster documentary about the quirky alt_rock band They Might Be Giants.

Gigli - I liked it. The film isn't bad at all.

The Gingerbread Man -Robert Altman has his chance to take on John Grisholm and does pretty well.

Ginger Snaps - Teen Wolf with Tits!

Girl, Interrupted - If we don't have anything better to do.

Girl Next Door - Sounds like a "must see" right guys? There must be lotsa nudity and lotsa sex in the film. Bet this is like being on a real porno set. Bet it's sexy as hell. Right?... Wrong.

Girls Will Be Girls - Over-the-top, outrageous, politically incorrect and the campiest film to come along in eons.

Girl with the Pearl Earring - the lethargic pace and unwavering narrative thread ultimately wind tighter and tighter making the film more and more engrossing.

Gladiator - This is a film that is made for men. Testosterone practically drips from the silver screen. They'll need a mop bucket at the megaplex to sop it up.

Godass - There's really no other reason to see it. It's a dull thud of a film.

Gods and Monsters - Splays itself across the screen like a drunken whore at a frat party.

God of Cookery - This is one whacked-out hilarious piece of work.

Gods and Generals - A conversation about the morality of this film would be as relevant as a conversation about the morality of Tupperware.

Godzilla - Is a real "leave your brain at home" kind of megamovie.

Godzilla 1954 - An Un-imagining of the original 1954 Japanese classic!

Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain - This film has some great things working in it's favor.

GoldenEye - There's no slowing down for plot or character development here.

Gone, But Not Forgotten - An engaging and romantic gay film.

Gone in 60 Seconds - Which is better? Watching a movie with a car chase or watching porn? Guys like cars. We like to see cars go fast. We like to see cars crash. There is something about the speed and the movement of it that makes our adrenaline rush.Cars are a drug. Cars or sex? That's a tough call.

Gone in 60 Seconds (1974) - It's lackadaisical approach to logic and cinematics usually defeats it.

Good Burger - These two young comic actors are so funny, together or alone, that it's a treat to watch them on screen, no matter how insipid the plot.

Goodbye, Boys - Boldly powerful in its quiet evocation of the end of innocence, "Goodbye, Boys" is a masterpiece.

Goodbye, Lenin - A delightful and important comedy.

The Good Girl - The first movie in a long time that simply just depressed the fuck out of me.

Good Night, and Good Luck - Right film. Right time.

Good Will Hunting - There is more male bonding and more male angst per frame here than in almost any other film since the 70's.

Gosford Park - Witty, involving and full of delightful images, stories and characters.

The Graffiti Artist - Languid, brutally honest, poignant, and utterly breath-taking.

Grand Canyon - The bottom line on the movie: simply genius.

Great Expectations - Traditionalists beware: This is poison for you.

The Great Raid - Believe it or not boys and girls. Once, it was actually possible to be proud to be an American.

Greendale - Neil Young shows that he is still as vital and as interesting as he was in the 60's.

The Green Mile - It drags every little emotive moment out with 20 minutes of exposition to get there. Sometimes it works but overall, the film seems elongated and laborious.

Gretchen - A lot of fun and often hilarious, it is also overly long and a bit too much to swallow.

Grizzly Man - A brilliant director could have created something extraordinary and breath-taking with this footage.

Group - Is awesome. There is not one false moment in it.

Grumpier Old Men - Much like the original, this film only marginally passes for a movie.

Guess Who - When this new film relaxes and allows itself to simply be about the subtle differences in black and white culture in post-millennium America, it often is compelling, poignant and relevant.

Gummo - Seems to simply let the camera roll and then edits the best parts together for us.

The Guru - It's just a delightful and cute movie.

A Guy Thing - Less than mediocre.

Gypsy '83 - I have never been so mad at a film for dropping the ball in my life.
