More Hollywood hype
"Nurse Betty" starring Rene Zelwegger and Morgan Freeman
is now slated for a 9/8. release.
The Jay-Z tour film "Backstage," which was also called "Hard
Knock Life" at one point, is now slated to open against the
Pras film "Turn It Up" (aka "In the Mix," "Ghetto Superstar")
on 9/6.
Cameron Crowe's new film finally has a title: "Almost Famous."
Crowe is supposedly now working on another project with Tom
Cruise now, which would reunite him with his star of "Jerry
Maguire."
"Duets" starring Gwenyth Paltrow and Huey Lewis has finally
been slated for a 9/15 open. Apparently the film had to be
reedited due to some concerns from Disney about violence.
It was helmed by her father Bruce Paltrow and was once a vehicle
for Gwenyth and Brad Pitt.
Speaking of Brad Pitts, his new film directed by Guy Ritchie
of "Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" fame has been redubbed
"Snatch." It's original title, "Diamonds," was made void by
the recent Kirk Douglas' outing that went almost straight
to video.
Renamed/Remodeled: The Keifer Sutherland film "Cowboy Up"
is now called "Ring of Fire." The Christopher Guest film "Dogumentary,"
which has indie babe Parker Posey in the cast, is now called
"Best of Show." And the Robert Deniro/Cuba Gooding Jr. military
flick has seen it's title changed from "Navy Diver" to "The
Diver" to the even more boring "Men of Honor."
Brendan Fraiser's "Bedazzled," based on the old Dudley Moore/Peter
Cook comedy and starring Elizabeth Hurley as the devil, has
moved from late summer to 10/6.
Kevin Costner's Bay of Pigs historical film "13 Days" is
now slated for a 12/20 Xmas rush release.
Brad Renfro's "Happy Campers" film, which is currently slated
to be released to theaters during the slow month of March
2001, may go direct to video.
Moved to 2001:
"Monkeybone" starring Dave Foley, Whoopi Goldberg and Austin's
own Harry Knowles.
"The Dubbed Action Movie: Enter the Fist" which has Steve
Odenkirk filming new scenes which he will be editing into
a 70's martial arts flick. (I liked this film the first time
when it was called "What's Up Tiger Lilly.")
Spielberg's take on Kubrick's long awaited pet project "A.I."
is slated for a 6/29/2001 release. After this film, Spielberg
is set to lens "Minority Report" with Tom Cruise. Frank Darabont
is polishing the script.
Another "Scream" genre spoof called "I Know What You Screamed
Last Summer" directed by John Blanchard (of "Kids
in the Hall" fame) and starring Tiffany Amber Thiessen,
Coolio, Tom Arnold, Mink Stole, Shirley Jones, Rose Marie,
Jimmy Walker and pseudo gay porn star and MTV VJ Simon Rex.
the title may change, of course.
"Along Came a Spider" the prequel to "Kiss the Girls," starring
Morgan Freeman.
Finally, have you heard about the new reality based TV show
created by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. No lie. It's called
"Greenlight" and it's premise is pretty simple. A new filmmaker
is given one million dollars to make a movie and cameras roll
while he undergoes his task. The event will be edited into
13 edible portions to air on HBO. The film made by the winner
will be released by Mirimax. Damon and Affleck will Executive
Produce.

can be found at http://www.projectgreenlight.com
And what's this film with Damon and Affleck called "The
Third Wheel?" Is this another gay movie from the "boys?" Although
they did not write or direct, they act in the film. They also
produce. The blurb about the plot on the internet movie database
(www.imdb.com) makes it sound like Affleck and Luke Wilson
are out on the "perfect date" when they hit a homeless man
with their car (he's okay though) and, then, can't get rid
of him for the rest of the night. What kind of homophobic
crap is that? Cause you know, that's what we gay people do
- we rundown homeless people with our cars! Please... hehehehehehe
