AGLIFF
- Austin Gay and Lesbian Film Festival - Day 2
Not much to report from this day because it was my
roomie Mike's birthday and we went down to 6th street
and put our drink on, so I didn't get to go see any movies.
I really wanted to see Margaret Cho's "Notorious C.H.O."
but it is playing at the Dobie in a month or so, so I
guess I can wait.
My friend Johnny Oh! did go to the screening and
said the film was hilarious. This was the first day
of films at the Regal Metropolitan and Johnny said he
looked for the word "gay" or "lesbian" on any of the
signage. He could not find it anywhere. The word "Agliff"
was used but that's it. He asked an Agliff person (perhaps
a volunteer, who knows) about it who actually had the
balls to say, "Well, some of our members aren't out
yet!" Can you believe that? That's the dumbest fucking
thing I've ever heard.
I have movies scheduled for viewing every day of
the fest except Tuesday, so there should be lotsa reports
posted and reviews up during the week. But I'm going
back to work at my day gig starting on Sunday morning,
so I will probably be pretty tired. I'll do my best
to get stuff posted as fast as possible. (Well, get
stuff written and get it to my friend Web who does the
actual work around here).
See ya round;
