Austin
Film Festival 2004 - Film Reviews
Sideways
- The bloated, lethargic, one-note Church sinks this
film like a 50 pound anchor.
Jailbait
- There are layers going on here and the film begins
to evolve a "more than meets the eye" complexity.
The Life
and Death of Peter Sellers - In this film one cannot
tell where reality ends and filmmaking and fantasy begins.
Around
the Bend - If King Kong finally overcame constipation
and dropped a two ton turd on New York City, you still
wouldn't have a bigger, more forced piece of shit.
The Nomi
Song - What is most amazing about this film is the
inordinate amount of footage of Nomi that is included.
Chrystal
- Fails to live up to that promise.
P.S. - Has enough
humor and sweetness as well as reality within it to make
it worth watching.
The
Street - Really only has one thing going for it
and that is a strong cast.
Sex
is Comedy - We begin to see the problems in the
first scene of the film.
Open
House - This film has so many problems with visuals
and sound that it is nearly unwatchable.
Mojave
- Turns into one of the silliest, biggest piece of crap
you can imagine. Often times, it's so bad it's actually
good.
Overnight
- At the center of the film is Duffy, a fat, pompous,
drunken blowhard who makes for great footage.
The Woodsman
- Ultimately, "The Woodsman," for all its good intentions,
fails miserably.
The
Graffiti Artist - Languid, brutally honest, poignant,
and utterly breath-taking.
